Courchevel, Naturally Magnificent

There’s no doubt about it, Courchevel was made for skiing. At the top are three great mountain bowls facing North, resulting in the best snow in the whole area. In the middle, a collection of smooth, long, perfectly pitched slopes that are meticulously groomed and surrounded by pretty forests. There is terrain to suit everyone from beginner to expert. The local slopes comprise 150km of runs, of which 23 are green, 35 blue, 32 red and 10 black.

COURCHEVEL 1850 WEATHER

One of four satellite villages, Courchevel is most famous for its highest resort, the exclusive village of Courchevel 1850, also nicknamed the St. Tropez of winter sports. Located at the very heart of Courchevel 1850, the prime location of Six Senses Residences means everything is within reach; the surrounding village and of course its famous mountain slopes.

“Having skied in Courchevel for over 40 years I am still inspired by its quantity and quality of available skiing both on and off piste; it really does have something for everyone – nice gentle wide motorway pistes of groomed perfection to the adrenalin fueled steep blacks and couloirs at the top of La Saulire”

Courchevel’s Best Kept Secrets

Chapelets

A red piste situated on the upper parts of Courchevel Moriond at 2,268m -  a twisting and winding piste with extraordinary views to the Avals valley, Dent du Villard and the Portetta Mountain at 2,867m. A must after fresh snowfall or early morning when newly groomed.

Cave des Creux

A red piste situated between Pralong and Les Creux and conveniently next to our favorite mountain restaurant of the same name; a wide piste groomed daily ad the piste bashers are housed at the bottom of the piste; views over the altiport and heliport as you fly down.

Combe de Pylones

A black piste situated up on the heights of La Saulire; hidden away amongst the jagged peaks, it is a favourite of the locals, and usually quiet as access is not easily found, and always has great snow. A personal favorite of ours. Steep, challenging and adrenalin guaranteed. Named after the first cable car pylons installed in 1952.
